Although I wrote lots of music up until about age 18, I put down the pen once I struggled to reconcile compositional elements like counterpoint with my impassioned but amateurish technique. I guess I've gotten over that, as I was recently struck by the impulse to compose music in the style of classic 8-bit video game soundtracks from the early 90s. You can find these MIDI tracks below.
Publications
Arrangements have been an essential part of the guitarist's repertoire dating back to the earliest printed instrumental music. My own efforts are geared toward benefitting both the music and the guitar. Especially important here are questions regarding "ethical arranging": Does the music fill in an underrepresented gap in the guitar's repertoire? What can the guitar offer this music which is lacking in its present form? Some of my works have been published by LACG Editions, and are available below.
